Like the Eco-Eye Elite, the Eco-Eye Mini is a British manufactured and designed wireless real time electricity monitor which displays your electricity usage and acts as a visual reminder to switch your unused appliances off. The Eco-Eye Mini calculates your greenhouse gas emissions (CO2) allowing you to improve your carbon footprint and it allows you to view both current and historical energy usage. It has the same functionality as the Eco-Eye Elite, just a smaller display.
The Eco-Eye Mini has a full range of functions that makes it one of the best real-time electricity monitors. It is very simple to use and comes configured from the factory with UK settings for both voltage and currency. Savings made using the Eco-Eye Mini are based on education, once you can see which appliances are using the energy and just how much they cost you, it is much easier to remember to turn them off. The Eco-Eye Mini will show you in Kilowatts or cost the values per hour, day, month and year. This will let you see how much electricity an appliance uses and how expensive it really is to leave on when not in use. Because the Mini also stores historical information, you can scroll back through your past consumption to find out how big a saving you have made by becoming more aware of your electricity usage.
One of the unique features of the Eco-Eye Mini is that you can select which channel the transmitter and receiver operate on from a selection of 30. This will avoid any interference black spots that may exist around you.
As with most electricity monitors, a sensor is clipped around the live feed from your electricity supply (no electrician is usually required) and plugged into the transmitter. This signal is then received by the Eco-Eye Mini. The signal can be picked up about 100m away in free space or about 30m through standard residential walls. The main Eco-Eye Mini display unit is battery powered and will last up to six months and as the unit is so compact, it is perfect for carrying round the house. There is a low battery warning symbol that will display when the batteries need changing and another symbol that displays when it has a link with the transmitter.
Cost of supply can be analysed by the hour, day, week, month or year.
The Mini receiver is battery powered and has an optional UK mains PSU
